I'm Yegappan Sekar — a Senior Web Engineer based in Coimbatore, India. I've spent 3+ years at Cartrabbit building ecommerce tools used by thousands of stores worldwide.
At Cartrabbit, I lead web engineering on multiple products — including Retainful (email marketing automation), Afflr (affiliate marketing), WPLoyalty (points & rewards), and UpsellWP (upsells & cross-sells). These tools collectively run on tens of thousands of WooCommerce and Shopify stores.
My work sits at the intersection of product engineering, automation, and data systems. I'm as comfortable writing a WordPress plugin hook as I am architecting a Google Apps Script pipeline that processes 17,000 URLs overnight. I believe software should solve real problems, run reliably at 3 AM, and be maintainable by the next person.
Outside of plugins, I build internal automation tools — Shopify app detectors, bulk email verifiers, Chrome extensions for web scraping, and comprehensive data dashboards that replace hours of manual work with a single trigger.
When I'm not at a keyboard, I'm exploring how automation is reshaping ecommerce, and occasionally writing about it here on the blog.
